PA Down Home Steading

I am an artist, educator, librarian, and gardener. This shop includes a variety of homesteading projects that are based on self-sufficiency, sustainability, and a strong connection with the earth. I began gardening when I was a teenager and planted my first garden with my dad. I have been experimenting with different ways to grow vegetables and flowers since then.

I grow food and flowers in a variety of ways. My vegetables and flowers are grown in raised beds, straw bales, cold frames, grow bags, milk cartons, a greenhouse, hydroponics, a garden tower, and in the ground. I have several wildflower gardens in my yard and companion plant flowers with my vegetables. The flowers and vegetables are grown in compost from our daily waste and weeds.

Homesteading is a lifestyle that values self-sufficiency, sustainability, and a strong connection with the earth. By incorporating gardening, wildflowers, recycling, and papercrafts into our daily lives, we can create a more sustainable future for ourselves and the planet.
